Northbank Holdings, Corporation is the corporate successor and vehicle organized to manage and develop the properties of the majority of the heirs of the late Mario L. Marfori.
The principal stockholders come from one of the oldest pioneering and respected families of Davao City. Its founder Don Simeon Marfori I brought his family from Luzon shortly after the Philippine revolution subsequently acquiring properties in Davao Oriental and prime areas within the city. His trading business evolved into shipping, plantation and real estate and has further evolved into commercial and residential property developments. His only son, Isidro, inherited the Bankerohan and Marfori Heights properties.
In the 1950s, his grandson Mario established the Herederos de Isidro Marfori (HDIM), a limited partnership in existence from the 1950s to the 2000s.
In 1974, the Estate of Mario Marfori was formed and later incorporated as the Heirs of Mario Marfori Holdings, Inc.
Now headed by the fourth generation Simeon P. Marfori II as President and CEO, Northbank Holdings Corp. has grown leaps and bounds in its management of its properties in the Bankerohan Market District namely Mallengke, Farmers Market Center, Fruitasan Mo!, MTraders trading Center, BFMC Annex, and the Pink Boarding House in UIC Fr. Selga among others. It also has interests in San Pedro Memorial Park, Forest Lake Memorial, Marfori Heights and Don Isidro Village.
Coming soon in the 300 hectare master planned township development project of Lapanday Properties Philippines, Inc. (LPPI) – Ciudades, is a market and terminal hub – Commercio Marquella. It is the newest suburban shopping destination in the fast-rising Tigatto-Mandug community in Davao City, where shopping is a happy and relaxed experience.
