RBJ Commodities Trading Exponent or RBJ COMTREX (its acronym), is engaged primarily in the marketing and distribution of quality clinical and laboratory diagnostic instruments and supplies.With its main office located at Cagayan de Oro City and a satellite office at Davao City, RBJ COMTREX operates with thirty-eight (38) employees, twelve (12) of which belong to our Sales Team deployed over Mindanao. We also maintain two (2) in-house Service Technicians who collaborate with and act as conduit to our principals’ service engineers. Serving more than five hundred private and government accounts throughout Mindanao, our annual gross sales is estimated to be between 90 to 100 million pesos.
Established in 1994, it started off by trading medical devices for clinic/office use to pediatricians and obstetrician-gynecologists. In 1996, BOEHRINGER MANHEIM PHILIPPINES (now owned by ROCHE Diagnostics, Philippines) commissioned our organization to be its reseller of all its diagnostic lines to all parts of Northern Mindanao. After two (2) years, we acquired exclusive product distributorship of two (2) more principals namely PEDIATRIC ASSOCIATES and MARSMAN-DRYSDALE MEDICAL PRODUCTS for Mindanao and North and Western Mindanao, respectively. Shortly thereafter, we signed up local distributorship agreements with three (3) more principals: ABBOTT DIAGNOSTICS DIVISION, MERCK CHEMICAL PRODUCTS and QUEST DIAGNOSTICS.
In 2004, MEDICAL TRENDS AND TECHNOLOGIES awarded us exclusive product distributorship of ABBOTT POINT-OF-CARE and other products for Mindanao. The year after, TNC EVERLIGHT PHILIPPINES, the national importer of BIOMERIEUX France, appointed us as its exclusive distributor in Misamis Oriental, Misamis Occidental, Bukidnon, CARAGA Region (Agusan and Surigao), Zamboanga Provinces (City, Sur, Norte, Sibugay) and Basilan. In our commitment to providing our Filipino patients and healthcare providers the best products and services, we continuously explore new opportunities that would strengthen our clinical diagnostic lines for Clinical Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology, Immunology/Serology, Hemostasis/Coagulation, Histopathology, Blood Banking and Point-of-Care Systems.
